Greetings to you all. I am Alban Musaerenge and I represent GetAlban my website is getalban.com. It has taken me a while to get in front of my computer to Blog, never the less, here I am. My message today is to the new Voice Talent out there. There is so much information out there on how to make money from VO by simply getting in front of a decent microphone with a computer of laptop and reading….. Do not be hook punched into believing any of that. This industry can be brutal. To even scratch the surface of making a living out of VO, you have to be in it because 1. You love it and 2. You really love it. You have to be in it for the long-run.
If you are looking for quick easy money, you are looking into the wrong industry. It takes so much practice and constant self review and review from others who don’t know you from Adam to get to an at least decent level. However, there are many jobs in the industry daily and there will always be a need for Voice Talents, even with the introduction of AI. I have been inspired by Paul of Nethervoice who I follow his website and Instagram to share my experiences with the rest of the world. So this is going to be one of many blogs that I share with you. If you are new in the industry or on the fence, do not be afraid to START. We all started at some point and have grown form strength to strength. There are many reliable, people who are willing to help at the drop of a dime. Coaching is important, be it self coaching which I will delve into later or coaching from a professional, if your budget allows. You just need to be pointed in the right direction. However, you have to totally believe in yourself before anyone else can believe in you.
What we do is not for everyone. Your voice is your power that you can use to bring life to any script. You only need to place yourself in the moment be it the year 2090 or 1836. If you can see yourself there, you can tell the story… Remember all you have to do is START.
